         Research and Development

         The scheme envisages the Research oriented studies on Adaptation Trial on selected intercrops, spices and condiments in coconut garden, studies on biological control of pests & diseases, studies on draught resistant intercrops, studies on Vermi composting, trial on rain water harvesting for agricultural purposes. The research and studies will be conducted in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kiltan, /CPCRI, Kasargod / CPCRI Regional Station, Minicoy, Bio control of India(PCI), Bangalore, Agricultural University, Thrissur / Thiruvanandapuram. The Financial allocation, under each component, will be released in installments to the Institutions for conducting the studies after submission and approval of the Project Report. All the studies will be aimed to increase the production & productivity of coconut, vegetables and fruits as inter crops.
