Training and Skill Development

Conducting of Entrepreneurs Development programme annually to around 30 candidates with the help of out side agencies. In this programme the first generation entrepreneurs are given class room inputs, Scheme orientation in similar units in mainland, assist to prepare their own projects,  l financial tie up with the Syndicate Bank and other Institutions.

Subsidy

Provide 25% Capital Investment Subsidy on investment made by the units on building, machinery and equipments and land on which the unit is set up.

Provide 30% subsidy on Industrial current consumption charges on registered SSI units in the islands.

Provide Interest subsidy over and above 7% on the term loan putting up any type of Industrial activity for the registered units in the islands.

Provide 90% and &75% Transport Subsidy for the movement of raw materials and finished goods between mainland and islands and for inter island.

Extension on Co-operative sector

Assist the local youths to form Industrial Coop. Society which are assisted financially by providing share capital contribution, working capital contribution and loan & working premises etc.

Handicraft

Provide one year training to local youths under the Traditional Handicraft , Programme conducted by the Handicraft Training Centre, Kavaratti under the dept.

Bringing experts from Textile Ministry and to conduct training programme, a group consist 15 local artisans in one or two islands in every year.
