Police is a non plan subject. The officers and men are imparted training in latest techniques on investigation, crowd control VIP Security, Computer management etc. The wireless wing has been equipped with latest equipments and trained personnel for maintaining un-interrupted communication between the far flung islands and Kochi with HQs Kavaratti in any emergency.

The establishment of a Marine Police force for the Union Territory has been approved by the Government of India in principle and formal orders are awaited.

Police can be proud of the fact that Shri. Mohammed Abdul Nazer Sub Inspector Lakshadweep Police has saved the life of Shri. Kasali Teacher on 30-01-200 from drowning. Considering the exemplary presence of mind, devotion to duty and philanthropy on the part of Shri. P. Mohammed Abdul Nazer Sub Inspector of Police was awarded a cash reward of Rs. 500/- an appreciation letter from the Administrator.
